iMechs were specifically developed for extra-atmospheric battles, and come complete with all needed life support systems. A pilot can use his craft in a low or no oxygen environment for up to 5 hours before needing to refresh the air filter. This practical machine can also be used in hazardous settings on planets, such as ice-fields or in and around volcanoes, where the enhanced shielding will protect both mecha and pilot. As a result, iMechs are often used by industrial concerns, outfitted with the appropriate equipment, for mining and building new colony outposts. High level craft have advanced shields which are handy for harsh environment jobs, as well as combat.

Advanced sensor arrays help iMech computers target enemy's weak points, disrupting their electronics and slowing them down.
Many of the Cogwerk clans use fleets of iMechs to quietly unload merchant freighters in planetary orbit, and transport the stolen goods to the black markets on the nearby colonies. To assist the pilots, they use small transports to provide fresh air filters in between destinations. The nigh invisible radar signature of the iMechs ensures a 99% success rate for such missions.
-Once thought of as a "joker", Nathaniel achieved notoriety for his artful piloting skills of lighter mecha and particularly the iMech, in which he has the "Joker" card pinned to the dash and painted on the cockpit. Many scoffed at his warning, "Beware the day the specialists rise." Who's laughing now?
Aware that speed is the great equalizer, Feng Jiang has commanded his squadron to specialize in projectile-based "gunboats", like the humble iMech...the very same model he used to win his first gold medal in King of the Mountain. He has also won the 33rd Century's only Reverse Engineering badge, for experimental work in railgun precision, which led to an improved understanding of both weapon attributes and dodging maneuvers. Today, he is a font of wisdom regarding mecha optimization, both for new and veteran pilots. But he never barges into a discussion uninvited: like Confucius, he cannot enlighten those who are not eager to learn.
An infamous smuggler of exotic cheeses, PieBob's iMech has toured distant farm worlds where combat mechs are rarely seen. Rumors abound of her "Angstgiving" feasts, an odd parody of a legendary old earth tradition.
Keyvan maintains an advanced research facility amidst the rings of Saturn. He and his loyal team use a number of iMech units to carry out biochemical observations of Old Earth.

Two large yellow lasers send penetrating beams towards lower level opponents. A good upgrade for developing an improved arsenal.
